How does Wellow work?

Our mission

Wellow was created to meet the needs of young French and international residents who leave their family and friends behind to settle in a new city for work or study. Wellow offers a sustainable, comfortable, and friendly living space.

Our model

We rent large, family-sized apartments in city centers—often vacant—from property owners to offer them to our community. Each space is optimized to provide a functional and pleasant living environment.

Your experience

As a Wellow member:

  • You will have a private, furnished bedroom in a shared apartment.

  • You will have access to the Wellow app, where you can interact with the community, join events, and enjoy features designed to help you explore the city.


Rental Contract

Duration

The rental agreement is for one year, renewable, personal, and non-joint liability (you are not responsible for another housemate's unpaid rent). The lease is eligible for CAF housing assistance.

Flexibility

Stay as long as you want, with a minimum commitment of one month.

Guarantee

A guarantor (residing in France or earning income in France) is required. If you don’t have one, you can use a third-party guarantee service such as SmartGarant.

Deposit

  • €950 for Paris

  • €800 for Lille

  • Refundable within one month after your departure.

Entry Fees

  • €500 for Paris

  • €250 for Lille

  • These one-time fees cover Wellow’s services.


Shared Living

Included Services

Home insurance, electricity, water, gas, and Internet are bundled into a single package (limited to a certain amount of consumption).

Support

Wellow manages communication with energy providers, Internet service providers, insurance (in case of claims), and landlords when necessary.

Individual Responsibility

You remain responsible for all your personal belongings within the apartment, which we recommend you to insure. You are also responsible for cleaning and maintaining your living space.

Mutual Respect

Respect your housemates' private spaces and contribute to daily household tasks to maintain a harmonious environment.


Booking

Viewings

We do not organize physical apartment visits, but offer virtual tours, videos and photos of our properties. We can also connect you with the current housemates to allow you plan a visit with them.

Call with Wellow

Request a call during your application process if you need additional clarification.

Availability

Priority is given to rental requests with move-in dates close to the room's availability date.

Pre-Reservation

Once your application is approved, the room is pre-reserved for 24 hours. If you don’t confirm the reservation within this timeframe, the room will be released.


The 4 Steps of Booking

  1. Request Information:
    You will receive an email inviting you to fill out a questionnaire to provide your personal information and that of your guarantor.

  2. Sign and Pay:
    After completing the questionnaire, you will automatically receive:

    • The rental agreement to sign online,

    • An email with payment links for the deposit, the first month’s prorated rent, and the entry fees,

    • A request for your guarantor to sign the guarantee certificate.

  3. Confirmation and Access to the Wellow App:
    Once these steps are complete, you will receive a confirmation email with all necessary information, including access to the Wellow app.

  4. Key Collection and Move-In:
    Once the app is installed, you will easily access information about the apartment and the keys. These details will be available on the first day of your lease.


Move-In

To ensure a smooth move-in, make sure all documents, payments, and guarantor validations (if applicable) are finalized before your scheduled date.

Apartment access will be provided through the Wellow app, after receiving the confirmation email.

Instructions for key collection will only be available on the app from the 1st day of your renting contract.

Access to the App

The confirmation email includes a link to our mobile app, where you will find all the details about your apartment.

Keys and Inspection

Follow the instructions to collect your keys and complete a self-guided move-in inspection via the app.
