Procedure to follow:
Your move-out inspection is the final step of your stay at Wellow. It ensures that your room and the shared spaces are clean and in good condition before you leave. It’s also when you return your keys and trigger the process to get your deposit back. Here’s how to get ready and avoid any surprises 👇
1️⃣ Book your appointment
2 weeks before your departure, you’ll receive an email to book your inspection via the Wellow app.
Inspections are done on weekdays only (no weekends or bank holidays).
If your end date falls on a weekend or holiday, the inspection must take place on the last working day before.
Please note: €60 fee may apply in case of no-show or last-minute cancellation.
2️⃣ Empty and clean your room
Remove all your personal belongings, including sheets, towels, and food items.
Do not leave anything behind (no furniture, bags, or trash).
Deep clean thoroughly:
Floors, surfaces, windows, furniture, corners.
Under the bed, behind furniture, inside drawers.
Bedding: no stains, hair, dust, or dirt.
🛏 Bedding reminder:
The mattress protector (fitted sheet under the mattress) must stay.
Pillowcases, duvet cover, and bottom sheet are yours – take them with you or throw them away.
3️⃣ Clean the shared spaces
Even if you’re moving out alone, you are still responsible for the shared spaces when leaving.
Kitchen: all appliances must be clean (oven, fridge, toaster, kettle, etc.)
Bathrooms & toilets: deep clean, including joints and floors.
Living room, hallway, entry: clean floors, no personal belongings left.
Empty trash bins and clear out cupboards and pantry.
💡 Tip: Share the cleaning tasks with your flatmates. You can also book a cleaning service directly via the “Services” section in the app.
4️⃣ Check the inventory
Go to your Wellow account (under “Check-out”) to access your move-in inventory.
Make sure everything matches:
All furniture is in good condition, nothing missing or broken.
Light bulbs are working, no stains or damage on walls or furniture.
➡️ Replace or fix anything if needed to avoid deductions from your deposit.
5️⃣ What will be checked during the inspection
Overall cleanliness (room + common areas)
Inventory match
Return of all keys
Any issues may lead to deductions from your deposit, including:
Cleaning not done:
€60 (room without private bathroom)
€70 (room with private bathroom)
€40/hour for common areas
Damaged or missing furniture
Soiled or damaged bedding
Forgotten personal items
Excessive energy usage (above your included allowance)
6️⃣ Getting your deposit back
Your deposit will be refunded via bank transfer within 3 to 4 weeks after your departure.
This period may extend up to 2 months in case of:
Necessary repairs
Waiting for final energy bills
🔁 Make sure your bank details are up to date in your check-out form.
✅ Summary:
A clean, empty, and compliant room = a fast refund and no extra fees 💸
